I played a longish session of blackjack last night, it was amazing to see how I was struggling to maintain concentration and I kept losing the count. My first session involved a game with an automatic shuffler but I wanted to test my counting skills. I know that these machines shuffle the cards after every round or so but I still wanted to see how fast I could count.

Must be lack of practice becasue I was absolutely terrible and lost the count three times in the space of ten minutes. I had gone with my partner and a friend of hers, I hate going with my partner if it is just me and her as she gets bored and isnt interested in the slightest about playing blackjack or roulette even if I gave her the money to play.

We then left and I was minus about £25 from playing the auto shuffler, I had been hoping for a couple of dealer errors but non came. We then went and had a lovely Cantonese meal which was some of the nicest food that I have tasted in ages and coming from someone who frequently dines out then that is really saying something. The staff, decor, ambiance were all perfect.

We then embarked in the short walk to another casino. My membership had expired so I had to go through all of the usual ceremony of having my photograph taken as did my guests. The blackjack was better here as they had two shoe games and I started playing basic on the first shoe and counted to try and get my speed back up. The table was full so I had more counting time.

Into the second shoe and the true count started to ramp up and so did my bets. With the persona of someone who was letting it ride, I managed to bet my £2 upto £80 without any problem whatsoever, nothing went right though and after a succession of stand offs and losing hands, I ended the shoe over £200 down. Something of a problem as I had only gone with £300.

I didnt much fancy going to ask my partner for any money, not in front of her friend who I didnt want to think I was some sort of low life gambler. So I retired from the game and went and spent the rest of the night with them.

anyway…..see you soon
