My partner and her friend are really starting to enjoy our little weekend casino trips. For them it is an adventure, for me it is nothing more than re-visiting old ground. I find myself analysing dealers and inspectors to see how good they are purely out of habit.

Last night was great all round, my partner chose the smallest roulette table by way of stakes that she could find which had 25p chips and she was happily annoying the dealer by placing one chip on every spin and no more. Then just as she was on the verge of losing her £5 stack…..she won 35 chips :-)

She ended up winning around £10 and he friend had an even better trip and won around £20. While all this was happening I was over on blackjack. I wouldnt have probably played seeing as they had a shuffling machine but I need to fill my new blog now so I decided to see if the dealer was exposing cards like last week. Nothing happened for over thirty minutes although I was up over £50 as I was playing in £5 chips. Twice the female dealer incorrectly paid me for a losing bet.

I never tell the dealer when they do this, they dont care as it isnt their money, it is the money of some multi-million pound company who sure as hell dont need £5. Free bets from careless or tired dealers all adds up of course and this can even leave you playing without a disadvantage at all if the errors come frequent enough.

What I like are fast dealers in these situations as they tend to have a technique that pulls cards faster than they can sometimes add up. She had started with an ace and pulled a four so she ended up pulling several cards to her own hand. Just like the dealer last week, she exposed a picture as being the first card out of the next hand. When I say exposed, I mean very subtly and it takes experience to be able to detect it.

This was the same casino and doing the same thing twice felt quite unnerving….still…..no pain…..no gain as the saying goes. So I made a big thing about leaving to join my partner on roulette and wanted to use my winnings to double up so I stuck my entire £90 on first box. Then I said “oh damn……go on…..make it the maximum just for the laugh”. I then put another £110 on and had £200 on the box.

Had this been on a conventional shoe game then they could have pegged me for a counter but not with an automatic shuffler. The card came and was the jack of diamonds and the dealer pulled a four……my card was a five……ouch.

I had to sweat the hand and as it got around to her I was thinking…..please….no middling card….two consecutive nines on her hand made her 22 so she bust and I was ahead by another £200. I left the table to go and cash in to then see my partner hitting yet another 25p chip on the number :-)

happy days

see you soon
