3. ARNOLD SNYDER
There are few people in the world of gambling who capture the public imagination like Arnold Snyder. In fact I would go as far as to say that Snyder was the single biggest influence on my own blackjack career.
His expose on shuffle tracking was ground breaking to me at that time and I have to thank him for that immensely. But Snyder also became one of the great blackjack theoreticians and unlike many of his rivals in the world of blackjack writing, Snyder was also a very successful player.
However he has also drifted into other forms of gambling as well with tremendous success that make him an outstanding game theory technician and all round strategist when it comes to gambling. He also produced one of the most interesting books on tournament poker in recent years as well called The Poker Tournament Formula which is a book that also has far reaching insights into cash games as well although this was not its intended purpose.
Arnold Snyder also has a very unique pen name as well which identifies him to people who are regulars within the world of blackjack and that pen name is “The Bishop“. This refers to his sermons and preachings on the game and in no way infers that Snyder has a biblical past.
You always think with someone like Snyder that he could make money at anything that he took his hand to be it blackjack, poker, stock market trading or betting exchanges……he simply has that kind of rare quality.
