This is a variation on the fake dealer move, and it involves collusion between the dealer and two team members. It is easily done in a shoe game and in fact this is where it is most effective. When a dealer is dealing from a shoe then he has the opportunity to not only expose the next card out of the shoe to the player at first base but he also has the perfect cover to conceal the act of doing so…..the actual shoe itself.
When this technique is exercised, what it actually does is work in the same way as dealing seconds. Even when there is CCTV or an Inspector present then the move still works. The dealer simply exposes the next card to be dealt from the shoe to the player at first base (team member) by slightly curling the corner of the card.
But the big player is on the final box and the card is exposed to the player on first base when it is the turn of the big player to act. The player on first base then signals to his big playing team member that they either want the card or they should draw. The big player can also distract the Inspector as well simply by talking to him.
If the signal is an audible signal like clicking chips then the big player is aware that he has been signalled in without having to look at his team member. So if he has 14 and the dealer is holding a 6 then this is a total that he would normally stand on. But if the dealer exposes a 5 then the big player will draw to 14 and make 19 which is a much stronger total and it thus denies the dealer a chance to make 11 which is a very powerful total.
