One of the biggest problems with casinos is that in countries like England, staff are notoriously under paid unlike in many other countries. What this means is that certain staff of shall we say, a certain type of character are always susceptible to cheating and colluding with players is perhaps one of the easiest.

As a dealer it is very easy to cheat and pass people money and the best way to do this is either to pay losing bets or not to take losing bets. In blackjack this can be very easy to do and on a full table goes something like this.

Let us say that the player who is being colluded with has 17 consisting of a 9 and an 8 and the dealer also has 17. If the player has $10 on their box and the dealer simply pays the bet even though it is a push then this is a free bet for the player. Likewise if the dealer gets 17 and the player only has 16 and the dealer does not take the bet.

Even if the dealer gets caught then this can be passed off simply as a counting error. If a player uses accurate basic strategy then they are only labouring under a 0.5% house advantage. So if the player has an average bet size of $20 and the dealer deals 60 hands an hour then the amount of action placed would be $1200 per hour.

At a house edge of 0.5% then the player would be losing $6 per hour. But if the dealer is paying two bets an hour that shouldn’t be paid or not taking losing bets then this increases the hourly rate by $40 which means that the player is no longer losing $6 per hour but making $34 per hour as long as this dealer is on this table.

So in actual fact what we have here is a “fake” dealer who appears to be dealing blackjack when his primary function is to assist a player in making money of which he will get a share.
