Inside my book on roulette called “Killer Roulette” then I described a fictional event to scam a casino by fixing a roulette wheel. This involved having an accomplice on the inside who removed one of the roulette wheel covers out of hours and coated the red or black numbers with a transparent substance that when hardened made the bounce more irregular. What actually happened inside the book was that the substance allowed less bounce than if the other numbers hadn’t been coated and thus almost trapping the ball in the numbers of that colour.

Now there is no proof that this has ever been done but in my opinion it is something that I believe could be done. It would of course need someone with access to CCTV and who worked on the inside like a security guard or doorman. In casinos where I worked then there were always people with access to the pit area after hours when there were no other people present in the building.

It would be the easiest thing in the world to rig a wheel or even a table itself. The real genius about this scam is that the casino would never know because all what would happen is that a longer than usual series of one colour would arrive but by the time they figured out what was happening then the player would have gone. In my roulette book then the applied substance was removable afterwards and thus removing any evidence.
