Time to discuss my weekly casino visit, last night it was just me and my partner as her friend couldn’t come. But while there we actually bumped into another one of her friends so that made me feel better about leaving her to play blackjack. We didnt go to the same casino and had gone to the coast for a while. I have been renovating a house so I decided to join a casino a few miles away.

I was surprised to see that they had a shoe game so I decided to play a little blackjack. The game was six deck which isnt great but the penetration from the dealers seemed to be around five decks which is good. It felt strange counting again and I made quite a few errors in the first shoe but by the time we had got into the second shoe I was fine.

I hadnt been playing long when the running count went to +16 half way through the shoe, I had been slowly ramping my £5 bets up and had managed to get £50 on with no problem. I was acting the part and making it look like I was doubling winners and chasing losers.

Unfortunately I had a succession of losers which left me around £400 down which was something of a problem as I only had £500 on me. I then had three consecutive hands where I had a push (stand off) and that seemed to turn the corner. I managed to claw my way back and ended the night around £40 down.

My other half is certainly riding the positive variance wave on roulette and won over £100 :-)

Now she thinks that she is Mrs James Bond, I cannot recall her losing…..I may just have to show her how to play blackjack and see if she can do any better than me :-)   This was a very small and pleasant casino but the only thing is that it is too far from where I currently live to go too often. But I will be moving house next year so this will definitely be a place where I will be visiting more often (for obvious reasons, I cannot divulge the casino names)

Take care and see you soon
