I think to have a poker hall of fame on any website means that this player isn’t just a top class poker player but must also be a poker player who has achieved outstanding success over a long period of time and over all poker disciplines. Someone who also basically altered the poker environment that we live in!
For me to open a hall of fame on this casino site is a great move because live poker is played inside casinos and so they are ultimately joined at the hip. But Doyle Brunson is regarded as the “daddy” of poker and for a very good reason. He was a two time World Champion in 1976 and 1977 and came very close to adding a third title to that list a short while later. Even despite his advancing years he would still be an absolutely ferocious player to do battle with for nearly everyone who played the game.
He also wrote perhaps the most famous poker book of all time which was “Supersystem” and that book totally changed the landscape for how people played NLHE. But Doyle has conducted himself marvellously despite some terrible personal tragedies that he has had to endure in his private life. He is a true legend of the game of poker and one of the very rare breed of players who can be classed as more than just a poker player but an actual poker icon. In fact the greatest tribute is that many new players coming into the game all know about Doyle Brunson.
