BASKET BET:
This bet does not get accepted in England but there is nothing to stop the player from placing it themselves. It is simply a bet that covers the first four numbers on the front end of the layout which are namely 0,1,2 and 3. Obviously on double zero wheels then the bet includes 00 as well.
BET LIMITS:
All roulette tables have bet limits, this prevents any one customer from placing too great a loss on the casino during any one spin, hour, shift, week or month. It also prevents doubling systems from being as effective or any other type of strategy on roulette that involves systems.
Usually there is a sign hanging above the table that informs players of chip denominations and bet limits (often called table limits).
BIASED WHEELS:
This is something that I mentioned an awful lot in my book “Killer Roulette“. These are roulette wheels which favour certain numbers. The reason for the bias is often invisible but the underlying reason is often wear and tear.
Many modern wheels have bias detection software built-in but are very expensive. The fact is that nearly all players fail to spot bias anyway and even the ones that get spotted cannot overcome the house edge. Usually casino managers will remove a biased wheel once detected.
BIG PLAYERS:
The big players on roulette are what makes the game exciting. Casino’s love them and they add excitement to proceedings. There is no bigger thrill than to see a large bet on a number come in at odds of 35/1. Big players generate big games and this causes lots of interest within the actual casino itself.
BLACK NUMBERS:
The roulette wheel is divided up into 18 red numbers and 18 black numbers with a zero number which is green (double zero in the USA).
