LAYOUT:
The layout means the covering on the roulette table. This can be baize or wool or sometimes felt and is nearly always green. Although I have witnessed in some online casinos, other more exotic types of colours. The layout obviously includes all of the numbers and other types of bets.

Terms like “on the layout” basically mean “on the table” and is a phrase that means a bet that is on the table. If an inspector tells a dealer to watch their layout then they are basically telling them to be more observant and to keep their eyes on the table.

LEFT HAND TABLE – WHEEL:
This is basically what it says, a wheel that is located to the dealers left and requires the dealer to spin the ball with the left hand. Also when the chips are cleared into devices like chipping machines then the chips are cleared to the left.

LE PARTAGE.
This is another term used for “En Prison” and refers to when zero comes in and the player has bets on even chances.

LETTING IT RIDE:
This is basically a term used for leaving a winning bet on for the next spin.

LINES:
The “six lines” are blocks of six numbers that pay 5/1. There are two such blocks per dozen and six in total making the 36 numbers that are on the layout minus the zero of course.

LOW NUMBERS.
These are the numbers from 1-18 on the wheel, note that zero does not count as a low number.

LOW PROFILE ROULETTE WHEEL.
These are wheels where the number dividers are very low compared to the older types of wheel. The new low profile wheels were produced in an effort to increase randomness.
