Many people say that you cannot beat roulette….what they actually mean is that you cannot beat roulette with betting systems. This is obvious and has been known for a long time and probably around 150 years or so.
But if you want to include other areas then the game is pretty vulnerable. How do I know this? Well after nine years working on the inside and another ten years studying the game then I really ought to know.
If I told you that casinos change the wheels around after hours then you may start to realise just how vulnerable roulette actually is. It also isnt anything to do with evening out the wear and tear either that they sometimes tell the staff.
Biased wheels and manual ball tracking are constant problems for casino operatives and executives. Even the modern Huxley wheels can be prone to biase despite them being touted to the contrary. I just refuse to believe that any mechanised roulette wheel can be bias proof given that the technology and manufacturing processes havent changed all that much.
I have worked inside casinos where the normal day to day maintainence was totally overlooked. I am sure that the executives and designers at places like John Huxley wouldnt be aware of just how badly some of their wheels get treated once they leave their factories.
This is a recurring problem for the casinos but they bring most of this on themselves by maintaining the wheels very badly. There is no proper servicing done in-house and no proper levelling facilities in many casinos. Badly maintained wheels coupled with atmospheric conditions could well create wheel bias.
Some of the modern wheels can actually detect their own bias and are computerised but how often does this data get checked? It is always the human element that is the weakest link, casino managers or operatives who are tired, careless or literally could not give a damn.
I want to expand on my BJ ramblings by expanding into roulette and hopefully this blog will reveal a whole new game that you never even knew existed……the darker side of roulette.
anyway….speak to you soon.
(going to a couple of casinos this week so will fill you in on what happened at the end of the week)
