I have been asked numerous times if playing full time blackjack is feasible? Well firstly by full time then I am assuming a 40/hr working week. From personal experience it is exceedingly difficult to get forty effective hours of blackjack in. This is a combination of poor game selection, travelling time, avoiding bad games, receiving heat and fatigue. So I would ascertain that you would be looking to play no more than twenty hours of blackjack per week at the most.
This situation gets even worse when you consider that the casinos these days have totally changed the face of casino blackjack with shuffling machines and electronic blackjack. These games are hardly conducive to making money at them long term. You would never be able to play full time in any one casino and be a winning player. All casinos keep a check on their winners and losers and so irrespective of how good your cover is, you will still have the problem of concealing long term wins. This means that your blackjack playing time in all likelihood probably needs to be spread over several casinos at the same time.
This however involves travelling time and so this eats into your working week as well. I would advise any player to maybe not play any more than ten hours per week. In fact there have been far more successful part time players in blackjack than full time players for this very reason. Playing ten hours is not a bad length of time to play the game per week and it is achievable as well.
