At the time, I found Shuffle Trak to be an absolutely ground breaking piece of software. In fact even now all these years later, there has never really been anything to improve on it. The creators Mesa Verde software have brought out numerous later versions but the effectiveness of this software has never been questioned by me.
So what exactly is it? Well it does what it says on the tin, it tracks the shuffles and follows the cards through to next shoe and locates their respective positions in that shoe for the player. Why is this important? Well in an era where the blackjack games are becoming less and less profitable then it is a necessity.
Six deck games are not terribly good for the player and often when the dealer is cutting short shoes then the player can find themselves basically recycling money. So it is imperative that the player has other weapons at their disposal and having access to something that tells you how certain shuffles are distributed is priceless.
It is also very important for a counter from a camouflage perspective as shuffle tracking can allow a player to bet big from the start of the shoe when no conventional counter would do so. Firstly of course you need to learn the theory behind shuffle tracking and I will be looking at that at a later date.
The first process is to learn the house shuffle and once you have done this then you simply input the data into Shuffle Trak and the software does the rest and you then see where the cards are being redistributed to in the next shoe.
Brilliant!!
