In every casino that I have ever played blackjack in then there has been a point that you really shouldn’t go beyond. This is the point that a casino becomes nervous due to experiencing losses that are larger than the norm or events that are away from the norm. As a card counter then your primary objective is to prolong your playing life. All other objectives are secondary to this one because if you have no playing life then you have no income and the game is over so to speak along with your career.
So it does you little good to upset gaming staff and casino management merely for short term profit. One such instance happened to me some years ago when I was playing blackjack and had only been playing for about fifteen minutes or so when an inexperienced dealer accidentally pulled a card to her own hand when she already had 17 which required her to stand according to the rules of the game.
The rule was that any card that was incorrectly dealt had to be the next card out of the shoe and on this instance the dealer started with an ace and then pulled another card for a total of 13 and then the next card was a four. They obviously miscounted and pulled again and that card was an ace. The rules stated that the card had to be retracted and would become the next card out of the next shoe. So I calmly bought in for £200 and placed the maximum on the first box. There were looks of shock and surprise from everyone that someone could make such a move but it was their mistake. I ended up making 20 and won the hand but I made some enemies that night and that isn’t good for a card counter.
