I was once inside a casino in Manchester when I spotted one of the best exponents of multi-table blackjack that I have ever seen. This guy was playing big but giving the illusion of being a gambler by jumping from blackjack table to blackjack table. I already knew that this guy was a counter because his bets were coinciding with my own counting system. Now I need to make it clear that there are times in every shoe where it is obvious to an experienced counter that the count isn’t going to come back to a situation that affords the player any sort of advantage.

This means that ideally he doesn’t want to play on in this situation. Having a second or a third table gives the player a very valuable advantage. This means that he can exercise mid-shoe entry and go and play on one of these other tables. Now you may say that the player doesn’t know what the count is and it could easily be negative. However this will even out over time as the cards that have been dealt already are cards unseen. This means that they could have been positive for the player, neutral or negative. What this also means is that the player can now treat the count as zero and count accordingly.

This gives the player fantastic cover because no casino expects the move but it also allows the player to get away from bad situations without having to play through them all the time.
