As a blackjack player then one of your primary objectives is to get enough money on to the table with big bets to be able to provide you with a half decent earn rate. This is very difficult to do as an individual counter for the simply reason that you are having to drift from table minimums to maximums much of the time.
There are techniques in place to circumvent that like table hopping for instance where in theory anyway, if you are counting cards that are unseen if you enter midway through the shoe then technically they will even out to zero.
So you are constantly playing in situations with neutral counts or supposed neutral counts. But the use of the BP or Big Player has been known for some time. The problem for any team is that if the BP is part of the blackjack team that comes in from the cold (goes into a casino for the first time) then you have a problem with the element of trust.
There is a great tactic that circumvents this problem and that is to use known big players that are already faces inside the casino. These would be players that were already losing large amounts of money annually and would be perfect for the role.
You have now already got around the problem of trust and getting the money on the table without suspicion because these people can easily do so and the casino loves them because they are losing players. So when they go on winning runs then the casino is forced to tolerate it because on the surface, it seems nothing more than a losing player having a lucky run.
To get around the problem of the counter always being on the same table as the BP, you then have at least two counters and you keep switching them.
It is that simple, the hard part is then finding a BP
