Using big players in blackjack is a concept that has been around an awful long time. It was first coined if I recall correctly by the late Ken Uston in his great book Million Dollar Blackjack. The main problem with counters is bet spread and this is one of the primary things that casinos watch out for.
However the role of the big player is also very widely known. Any big player be it on roulette or blackjack who is new to the casino will likely cause attention and if this is coupled with an unknown blackjack player then it isn’t difficult to spot the connection.
However what does become difficult to spot is when known losing big players are used. These could be people who have been known to the casino for years and have lost very considerable sums of money. It would be very easy to team up with such a person and any wins that they had would not receive any heat due mainly to the large losses that they had previously incurred.
Any new player who was ahead by say $50,000 would recieve a lot of heat if they had been playing say $500 maximums. But a player who was losing $50,000 a year for a few years and was well known to the casino would get away with it far easier. This also gets around the problem of having to disguise your winnings or cashing the money out as everything can be done out in the open.
Once the big player reaches a stage where the amount won figure is too high then you simply search for a new big player. It is very simple really but is also very effective.
