The Paroli betting system at blackjack is a system that allows you to profit more from successful runs that you have against the dealer. It is an entertaining system that has several variations. However though it is a betting system and any betting system without card counting cannot get you an edge against the house. This applies whether or not you are playing live or online. So just how does the Paroli system work?
Well quite simply you start with the minimum bet of say $2 but you never deviate from that bet as long as you are losing. There is no doubling up to recoup losses like with the potentially very expensive Martingale system. If you have $100 and the minimum bet is $2 then you have the bankroll for 50 minimum bets with the Paroli system. Now not all of those bets will be losers and if you play accurate basic strategy then you will win around 50% of the time and lose 50% of the time and so you should be near as damn it breaking even over this sample size in terms of EV.
But the Paroli allows you to increase your wager when you win and place $4 onto the next bet. If you win that then you can place $8 onto the next bet and so on. The only stipulation is in how many times you allow yourself to double up because if you double up and lose then you have lost your original $2 once again and unless you get all the way to the table maximum and win then you will lose your entire $100 in this instance. It is not a great betting system but one to consider if you want a quick exciting blackjack game.
